Our next general membership meeting will be on Saturday May 20, 2023, at 12:30 PM at Villa Mosconi 69 MacDougal Street New York City.

This will be our last meeting before we take a break for summer. After this, our next meeting will be in September 2023.

Please email me call, or text me 201-481-1458 to let me know if you are attending the May 20^th meeting so that we can give the restaurant a headcount.

When ordering Tickets, please specify if a ticket is for a dad and his name, same with the children, please specify their names and ages.

We need to give Kruckers a head count 2 weeks prior so please purchase your tickets early.

No-one will be admitted to the picnic grounds before 10:30 AM. No tickets will be sold at the gate and pets are not allowed.

Fran said that we would get the picnic section near the Lake, same as last year.

Rita and Fran ask the members attending the picnic if they could bring gift baskets, Homemade Desserts, new unwrapped toys, and Knick Knacks to raffle off that day.

Monetary Donations to offset the cost of the raffle prizes and the children’s games are gratefully appreciated either at the May meeting or online.

Past President Peter Segalini reminds us that the May 20, 2023, meeting will be our last before the summer break and until the September meeting. Leaving only one meeting before the October 15^th Scholarship Dinner dance.

Now is the time to bring in or send in your Journal Ads, donations, or both. Journal Contracts are available at all meetings and available for download on our website.

2023 Scholarship Applications are being reviewed by our Scholarship Director Mark Draghi Our members, students and parents would like to thank Mark for all the hard work that he puts into the applications, the Bios and the yearly verifications and payments and everything else that goes with it, that he takes care of year after year for us.

President Diego Segalini reported that our members’ attendance and support of the April 16^th Valtarese Foundation’s 33^rd Annual Scholarship and Dinner Dance was a big success and gratefully acknowledged by the officers of their Foundation. Thanks to Luigi Covatti, Mariuccia Barborini, Stephen Forlini and his family for attending along with Diego and yours truly. Photos are on our Facebook Page.

At our last meeting, members voted to make Cantine Val Tidone the Official Cantina of Societa’ Val Trebbia e Val Nure, Inc. Congratulations to members Paul and Carmen Bazzini of Bazzini Wine Importers/Cantine Val Tidone. Thank You for your continued generosity and support of our Societa’.

At our members’ request, we will have information for the Immigrant Monument in Nogent Sur Marne France (Sister City of Bettola, Farini and Ferriere). Diego met with the people responsible in late April and will have an update for us at the next meeting.

If you’re travelling to Piacenza this August, our members are invited to the Annual Festa dell’ Amicizia. I will have more details about the date and location soon. This is the event where many of our members received the Prestigious Piacentino Benmerito nel Mondo Award in past years. It’s a great event to attend if you’re there.

Congratulations to fellow member Salvatore Segalini and Melissa Montalvo and their families on their April 15, 2023 Wedding.

Our first meeting at Villa Mosconi on September 24th, 2022 was a huge success. We had a great turnout. The food and the service was excellent! Thank you to Jerry Leonardi and his staff for taking such great care of us.

Thank you to Carmen and Paul Bazzini for providing the wine they import from Cantina Val Tidone. A price list can be found on our Facebook page if anyone is interested in purchasing Paul’s Wines. They have a great selection as many of our members already know and purchase wines from them.
